HiPP – European Organic Baby Food
The HiPP company focuses on excellent quality of its organic products and baby formula. HiPP offers a large selection of baby formula, complementary foods, delicious HiPP menus and snacks for in between for babys and infants from birth to toddler age.
About HiPP – What is the HiPP Brand History?
In 1898, Joseph Hipp, a confectioner originally from Güntsburg, Germany, and his wife started a family, which was the beginning of HiPP’s history in the infant food industry. In the same way that many other moms do, Joseph’s wife struggled to nurse their children. Because Joseph and his wife were unable to provide their children with only breast milk as a source of nutrition, he was forced to devise a substitute. This was the impetus for the development of the first HiPP infant formula.
In the 1800s, people only had a few options regarding the formula they could give their infants because there was no such thing as an organic formula store. Joseph used his background in patisserie to produce infant formula for his children by combining milk and hand-grated rusk flour in his pastry store in Pfaffenhofen. He did this by using his confectionary skills. The news of his achievements quickly spread, and many people currently consider HiPP among the industry’s most reputable makers of various formulas.
The same family has run the company for the past few centuries, and it has made protecting the health of young children a central focus of its mission and principles; indeed, one of its mottos is “The very best of mother nature The very best for the environment. ”
In 1956, HiPP, a company that was a pioneer in the field of organic agriculture, started obtaining the raw ingredients that were used in their baby food products from soil that had been organically cultivated. Since then, HiPP has grown to become the company responsible for the most organic raw material processing worldwide!
HiPP comprises over 6,000 organic farms, contributing to the company’s organic infant formula and baby food manufacturing. They are dedicated to manufacturing items of the highest possible quality while preserving a harmonious relationship with nature. We are thrilled that the cows who produce the organic milk used in the production of HiPP baby formula are fed grass, hay, or grain since this ensures that the cows are content and hence produce milk that is high in nutrients for infants.
HiPP Formula: HiPP Organic Seal & European Organic
HiPP creates products that are certified organic by the European Union. The following are some of the organic standards that the farms where these products were cultivated had to adhere to earn this seal:
- Only utilizing seeds that have not been treated.
- Protecting plants through the use of preventative measures.
- Kenneling animals per their breeds and kinds.
- Putting a stop to the usage of mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen.
- Hormones are not allowed, but antibiotics can be used if necessary for the animal’s well-being.
Due to the absence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial colors, and preservative smells or flavor enhancers, the EU organic formula is widely considered among the best formulas on the market. Be reassured that products with the EU organic mark are prepared with at least 95% natural ingredients and that the remaining 5% of non-organic substances must adhere to stringent requirements to be considered organic.
When it comes to natural baby food, the non-organic components that are often fortified vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids are essential to promote your child’s health and are, therefore, not considered organic.
In addition, HiPP has added their exclusive organic seal, known as the HiPP organic seal, to their items, ensuring that they meet and exceed some traditional EU organic requirements. The HiPP does not permit pesticide residues in their merchandise, which they guarantee by utilizing high efficiency and technological quality tests. Products that bear this seal have natural ingredients that have been properly examined for contaminants.
What Are the Different HiPP Formula Stages?
The baby formula that HiPP sells has different stages that correspond to different ages. This is undertaken to replicate the nutritional intricacy of breast milk, which is a dynamically fluid that varies to fulfill the requirements of infants at varying ages.
During different stages of growth, the importance of consuming various quantities of vitamins and minerals shifts to a greater or lesser degree. In addition, the amount of energy your child needs shifts as they age.
HiPP manufactures infant, follow-on, and toddler formula to provide nutritional support for your kid at every stage of development during the first few years of their life:
HiPP Infant Formula
There are two different infant formula stages, although both can be used starting at birth and contain similar ingredients.
Stage PRE
It is recommended that newborns use Stage PRE as either their primary source of nourishment or as supplemental feeding for a breastfed baby. Lactose, often known as milk sugar, serves as the only source of carbohydrates in this phase of infant formula. During the first several months of your child’s life, this formula stage should be given to them whenever they want, as frequently as they choose, and as often as they wish.
Stage 1
Stage 1 is designed to be utilized by newborns as either their exclusive source of nutrition or as supplemental feeding for a baby who is breastfed. This formula stage comprises mild organic starch as a complement carbohydrate, in contrast to the stage PRE. In conjunction with lactose, starch is introduced to the formula to make it more creamy and satisfying, which may make it more appropriate for hungry newborns.
HiPP Follow-On Formula
After the sixth month, newborns already getting complementary foods are eligible to begin using follow-on formula designed to be used as part of a mixed diet for these infants. These formulae often include greater iron levels, frequently given in the form of iron sulfate. Starting around six months, iron becomes a critically important nutrient for young children.
The subsequent formula phases will vary from one country’s version of the HiPP formula to another, depending on the model of the formula you use. Formula stage 2 and formula stage 3 are considered follow-on formulas for the HiPP German program. Only formula stage 2 is considered follow-on milk for the HiPP UK and Dutch programs.
HiPP Toddler Formula
The recommended age range for a child to start using toddler formula is between 12 and 36 months. They are not the same as infant formula because their purpose is to ease the transition to the diet of the rest of the family; as a result, they are not appropriate for infants who have not yet reached the age of one year.
The toddler formula offered by HiPP is formulated using the beneficial components of cow’s milk, such as the milk’s naturally high calcium content. However, the formula is also supplemented with essential nutrients that promote healthy growth and development in young children. This formula will discover minerals such as vitamin C, vitamin D, iron, and folic acid. These nutrients work together to help bone formation and a robust immune system.
The stage of the toddler formula will vary from nation to country, based on which form of the HiPP formula you opt to use. Toddler milk includes the HiPP German formula stage 1+ and the formula stage 2+ products. The Dutch and the British HiPP program refer to formula stage 3 as toddler milk.
What Are Different Kinds of HiPP Baby Formulas?
The HiPP formula line is available in various variations for use in various countries, including HiPP German, HiPP Dutch, and HiPP UK. HiPP tailors its formula to the desires of individual nations and the laws governing those nations to guarantee that parents will have access to organic milk suitable for their infants.
But whichever version you go with, you can rest assured that all of the HiPP formulations have been given organic certification by the European Union. This gives you the confidence to make your purchase. In the following sections, we shall discuss the characteristics of each country’s version.
Your child will receive superior nourishment from various baby formulas produced in the three nations, as guaranteed by the HiPP quality standard. Their organic formulas are made with milk from organic cows or goats. They include essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids that ensure that young children receive the nutrition they need.
Organic sunflower oil, organic palm oil that comes from sustainable sources, and organic rapeseed oil are some of the oils typically included in the HiPP formula. Organic lactose, starch, and maltodextrin are all excellent examples of sources of carbohydrates.
The constituents of fish oil, vitamin C, folic acid, vitamin K, calcium from calcium chloride or calcium carbonate, zinc sulfate, and natural lactic acid bacteria are also good sources of additional nutrients. If you have any questions concerning the components that go into a particular formula, the answers can be found in the product description.
When contrasted to other producers of infant formula, such as Holle formula, HiPP is distinguished by the fact that they provide a wide selection of specialty formulas that are developed for infants who suffer from a variety of conditions, such as lactose-related three-month colic, constipation, enhanced belching, or spitting up, as well as children who are at danger of developing allergies.
Before selecting any formula other than a specialty formula, specifically, you must have a conversation with your pediatrician to determine the underlying cause of your baby’s symptoms and determine which formula would be the most appropriate for your child, given their requirements.
It is important to note that in addition to the traditional formula, powder, they now sell bottles of ready-to-feed prepared formula that can be used on days when you are pressed for time but still need to feed your baby.
