Fat
Fats aren’t foes; they’re foundational for children, underpinning brain development, energy supply, and vitamin absorption.
In our bodies, fats wear many hats. They’re the cushioning in our cells, the carriers for certain vitamins, and a significant energy source. For little ones, fats are especially vital for brain development, which is in overdrive during the early years.
Avocado slices, a smear of nut butter, or a piece of salmon are excellent fat sources. However, if there’s a nut allergy in the family, foods like avocados, olives, or fatty fish can keep kids’ fat intake in check.
