- raw products come from farming without pesticides
- without added sugar or syrup
- supports the intestinal flora of your infant

What is the difference between the brands?
The main difference between Holle and Lebenswert baby formula is the biodynamic certification. Holle organic baby formula is certified by Demeter, which is the biggest organic certification organisation for ecological farming. Lebenswert on the other hand is certified by Bioland association, which is the biggest organisation for ecological farming in Germany.
What is the difference between the stages?
The main difference between the baby formula Stage 1 and the Follow- On Formulas (Stage 2, 3 and 4) is in its balance of protein. All formulas contain whey and casein protein, but in different proportions.
Another difference is the higher amount of iron and starch for follow- On formulas to introduce more solid foods in the later stages. This helps with the weaning process.
Products marked with PRE contain no starch, making it possible for you to feed it to your infant in 3 hour intervalls. The Stage PRE must not be confused with Preterm Birth.
When is the best time to switch to the next stage of the formulas?
With the growth of your infant the nutrients your baby needs differ. To ensure that your baby gets all the nutrients it needs for a healthy development, we warmly recommend to choose the stage matching your baby’s age.
The biggest manufacturers of baby formula like Holle and Hipp have invested many years of research to make sure the formula provides the best possible nutrition for the best possible development of your baby.
Plese note that the differences between the stages are not as big between the different follow- on formula ( stages 2, 3 and 4). This means that don’t have to switch the formulas at an exact point of time.
You can continue to give your baby the preceding stage some more weeks and, likewise, you can give your baby the next stage earlier with a clear conscience.
Is palm oil secure for my baby?
Yes! Palm oil is among the few vegetable oils which is naturally rich in saturated fatty acids. Most of the other vegetable oils are rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. The combination of palm oil, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil results in a balanced fatty acid profile which match to the nutrient requirements of your baby.
What is maltodextrin and why does my baby need it?
Maltodextrin is a natural vegetable sweetener. Its main characteristics is that it is easily soluble and easy digestible. This combination works very well in baby formula. Being easily soluble, maltodextrin makes the powdery baby formula dissolve easily and evenly. which makes it easier for the baby to drink.
What is DHA and why is DHA important for my baby?
DHA and ALA are Omega-3- acids which can be found in fish oil, egg oil and krill oil. Breastmilk commonly contains DHA as well and thus, is important for the baby. DHA that are found in infant formula come from Docosahexaenoic single cell oil, which differs from the DHA that can be found in breast milk. Both forms of DHA in baby formula and in breast milk contain essential fatty acids and are important for brain health and a good immune system.
Can I prepare the fresh milk bottle for the night earlier in the evening?
What do I have to consider when my baby gets the first teeth?
Healthy infant teeth are an important element for healthy teeth later in life. That is why it is advisable for parents to take care of the necessary oral hygiene from the very beginning. When the infant becomes its first tooth, you can remove the plaque with a cotton wool bud to clean the teeth. A wholesome diet also is very important foe the health of teeth. Normally, your baby does not need additional food during breastfeeding. Continue to either breastfeed your baby or to give it formula, unsweetened herbal tea or water as soon as you start weaning. Avoid fruit juices because their acids are aggressive to the tooth enamel.
Try to never let your infant suckle on the bottle for long periods of time- that can have bad consequences for your baby’s teeth.
Why does baby formula milk have to be diluted with water 1:1?
If you compare cow or goat milk to breastmilk, you will find a big difference in the quantity of protein, carbohydrates and minerals contained. The exceeding amount has to be excreted via the baby’s kidneys which are not fully developed yet. Excessive strains on the infant’s kidneys have to be avoided.
That is the reason why baby formula milk has to be adapted to the baby’s physiological conditions as far as possible by diluting the milk with water in a ratio 1:1 for the first six months.
